Bonus post....!!!

Hi crafty people ....
I wanted to share an album I created few days back with the 12x12 chipboard which is available in so many colours in our store. I was initially very hesitant to work with chipboard but I have some adorable friends who helped me in this.
Using Chipboard gives your project, which can be a box or an album much more strength as compared to thick cardstock.
I wanted my first attempt simple and so i created a simple box and a mini to be kept inside it.
The output was lovely and was liked by so many people. Crafters corner is the place where I share my best creations and wish to inspire you to be open to experiments and challenges.
This kind of a box can be a ultimate gift for someone special and close .
Here are few of the picture ...

Hope u like them ..
Wish u all a very happy festive time ahead!!!!

Happy Snowman on a Frosty Morning...Picture Heavy Tutorial Post !

Hi Friends,
This is Riti Banka Poddar here today, Saying Hello.
It's such a wonderful time with the change in the weather...with cool evenings & sunny mornings. It's Time to get all those fancy warm clothes out along with our favourite. blankets to snuggle in & stay warm!!

For my Tute, I wanted to welcome the Winters, hence I made this Happy Snowman on a Frosty Morning - Slider Pop Up card !

so let's begin the Pictorial for this awesome Slider Pop Up Card !
It's a PICTURE HEAVY POST....so please sit back with hot Coffee/Hot Chocolate & some of your fav. cookies to enjoy the Tute !!

Before I begin the Tute, here's a picture of the complete Card !
Click on the pictures for a larger picture.

Okay let's begin with the Tutoial "

Firstly gather your Card stock in the sizes shown in the picture below.
(note : The card stock should be sturdy enough to be in an upright position)

Next : Emboss the 5 3/8"x4" card stock using your embossing Folder.

Use your Distress Paint Daubers to give a Distressed Look to the embossed Card Stock.

Score at 1 1/2" from one end. This will be the base of the POP-UP !

Score the 2 1.2" x 1 1/2" Piece at 1/2"
This is the Front Pop Up Piece. (sorry about the blurry picture)

Next score the 2 3/4"x 1" piece at  1/2" and 2 /4"
This is the Back Pop Mechanism Piece.

Now score the 1 1/2" x 1/2" piece at 1/2" and 1"
This is the Back Pop Up mechanism Piece.

Our next step will be to decorate our Wrap Up Piece.
Take your 1 1/2" x 9" piece and Stamp on it.
(You can also take a Pattern Paper if you like)
But make sure the paper is a thin one, so that the card can slide easily.

Next apply a strong Glue to the Bottom of the Embossed piece.
Do not go above the score line.

Now line up the Long stamped Piece to the Base of the
embossed Piece along the scored line.

Lay the base flat on the work surface & lift up the Upper
Part of the embossed piece as shown above.

Now take the Front Pop Up piece, and apply glue on
one end till the score line.

Stick the Base of this Pop Up piece to the fold of the
embossed piece's centre.

Next take your 1 1/2" x 1/2" piece which is scored at 1/2" and 1".
Apply glue to the ends. This is the Front Pop Up
Mechanism Piece.

Attach this small mechanism piece to the previous
piece at the top scored line, as shown above.

Stick the other end to the embossed Piece directly.
It should look like this.

Your card will be upright as shown above.
The front Pop Up piece is Ready !!

Next, take the Base piece and line it up under the embossed piece.
It should form a uniform frame all around. DO NOT STICK THE BASE TO THE EMBOSSED PIECE. Make sure the base of the card & the Band Piece is lined up properly.
You can press it down as well to keep it flat.

Next step is to make the band.
For that you will need to adhere one end of the stamped
strip to the other end. Just make sure the band is not
too tight, as it will make the paper buckle up.
It should be nice & Snug enough to keep the paper in an
upright position else if too loose it will slide back in a
 flat position.

The band should look like this at the back.

Next you will need to take off the white base piece from the band.

Now using your 1" circle punch, punch out a semi circle
in the centre through all the layers. This will form
the notch to pull the base piece.

In case you want a sentiment/greeting make sure
that you write/stamp an inch above the base..so that
it doesn't show through the punched area.

Once you have punched out the base, Slide back the white
base card back into the band from behind.
It should look like this now.

Pull the card & bring it into an upright position.

Now take the last piece which is 2 3/4" x 1". Sharpen the crease
at 1/2" and 2 1/4" and glue at the scored edge on opposite sides.
Measure an inch down from the centre of the base top as shown above & stick one end of the pop up piece at the white base.

Now bring back the embossed piece to the white base.
It will get stuck to the already glued pop up piece at the white base.

Next hold the card at the two sides of the band & pull the
white tab which peeks through the punched area..
and Voila!! You have a Sliding Pop Up Card there.
It's ready to be embellished with all your favourite dies, stamped images,
embellishments etc....

here are some more pics of the card that I made.........

It's easy to go in the mail as well...just if you want to send these to your Friends & Family who live far away from you. The recipients can also display them in their craft room or living rooms in the Popped Up Position... This will surely make their occasion a very special one !!

Martha Stewart Scoreboard-A Review !!

Hi Everyone ,

Its Hussena here  and today I am  sharing with you some detailed review about the Martha Stewart Scoring Board and its various uses as well as a detailed look at the product itself.

So first a little bit about the  Martha Stewart scoreboard : Martha Stewart Score Board is made from an ivory colored plastic with the numbering in black and the signature Martha blue. Very easy to read. In addition a storage space has been provided at the top to keep the bone folder that comes with the board. Under the flap is a guide that tells you how to make standard sized cards and boxes. It  also tells you what size paper to start with and where to score. The board  has scoring indentations every 1/8th of an inch! It also open on the right hand side AND the bottom, so it will incorporate really large sheets of paper.

What does the Martha Stewart Scoring Board  Package consist of Well firstly you get the scoring board itselfa scoring tool (otherwise known as a bone folder,) and an envelope template. Also included is a chart with standard sizes of boxes, cards and envelopes..And believe me this chart is so very handy it really helps you with the different measurements for making envelopes and your Boxes... No more rulers and measuring, you simply lay your paper on the board, run the scoring tool down the groove and ta da your paper is perfectly scored for easy, neat folding. How great is that!!!
P.S : { Most of the images taken are from Google and Pinterest but I have also combined some of the pictures from my personal blog too! }

Okay here's a look at  how the board looks like front and back side  :

As you can see on the back side there is a groove provided in which your envelope template fits in snugly and there is also  enough space for a pencil to fit in.
What makes the Martha Stewart score-board more preferable over other score-boards is its unique bone folder which is quite thin and slides into the grooves provided deeply which results in much more crisper folds and makes your scoring more neatly finished.

As you can see there is a flap on the top of the score-board in which you can store your bone folder for easy-access and also the added incentive of it being right there where you want it when you take it out to create a project.....On this flap, are also the measurements for making boxes and cards which looks something like this :

And here's a look at the envelope maker template along with the guide which comes in the package :

As you can see,the company people have provided you with various measurements to make different sizes of envelopes so that, you don't have to rack your brains trying to figure out the measurements for each of your different sized envelopes.

Now that you have seen how the score-board looks like and the different tools and accessories provided with it...
Here's a look now at the different things that you can do using these score-boards!

1.Making a rosette-You can make different sizes of rosette's for embellishing your card-making or any 3-D projects. There are several tutorials on how to make a rosette using the MS score-board and below I am showing you a very short tutorial for it :

And here's a sample of how I have used the rosette on my card and 3D projects :

2.Scoring to create a background on your cards : You can easily create interesting backgrounds for your cards by scoring them horizontally or vertically like I have done in my below card...I wanted to create a trellis-like effect and it was very easy doing it using the score-board!

3. Simple scoring to highlight a card :

4. To make envelopes :(Image from Capadia Designs)

Here's the sample of the envelopes I have made using the scoring-board and MS punches :

5.Making fancy-fold cards : Making all the difficult fold cards becomes a breeze using a score board  as you not only get perfectly scored lines but it also helps in figuring out the different measurements!

Here's an example by DT member Priya who is brilliant at doing fancy-fold cards!...Look how she's used her score-board to create the below card :

And below is my card :
Hope you all find this review useful ...From personal experience I really do recommend buying the MS Score board...I have found it's really good value for money and the old days when I used to a metal-edged ruler to score my work have been left far behind since I have laid hands on my MS Score-board :)

The Martha Stewart Score board is available at the Crafter's Corner shop at very attractive price of Rs 1550 only! :)
Like I said, its total value for money and a must-have for any crafter!..Makes your work so much more easier and faster and what's more it's one of the highest selling Score-boards available compared to others !

Have a nice day everyone!
