Graphic 45 and Folk Art paints...a fusion!

Good morning!
This is Rupa and welcome to Crafters Corner blog today. I am back with a fusion project today! If you know me by now, your guess should be that this too is an upcycled/recycled altered project.
I have not one but 2 projects to share with you.
Once again I have played with a discarded box...one look at the original box and I am sure none of you would have even bothered to hoard it!
I knew this one had potential only for the reason that the inside of the box had this lovely gold satin fabric lining and it was just beckoning for a second call!
My last project was a keepsake box for “the man” and this time I dint want to spare the DIVA of the house!
I have worked with Graphic 45 papers and Folk Art multi surface paints . Lets move to the process...
Step1- I mixed some gesso to the folk art paints and dabbed it on the top  and sides of the box. I have played with an unusual color palette this time, the inspiration being the lovely papers itself!
Next, I went about adhering the paper with modge podge. I have used the Graphic 45 Couture collection papers and I must say such an elegant, stylish one just perfect for the Diva...what say????
Step 2- Once the paper was modge podged, I applied a coat of matte varnish to seal it. The base of the box has a lovely blue shade which I applied directly on to the box with a sponge.
I have stenciled all around the top lid and the base with contrasting paints, all of which you will see on the pattern paper.
Step3-  I loved the oranges and the blues and greens and couldn’t stop the addition of a metal clasp opener and the ornate corners around the base. The box too got a coat of varnish.
Are you ready for the peek inside and yes, I have surprise in there too!
And here we go...the box opens....
Step4- I have lined the top portion with Graphic 45 Typography collection! So vintage and I love the scripty feel to it! I have created separators using chipboard and some gold pattern paper from my stash. The pillow for the watches is made with an old denim and sponge and fits in snugly in the compartment to hold more than 5 watches!
Are you ready for the SURPRISE....do you see a cute little thing hanging off one of the separators???
That’s the one...This paper of Graphic 45 is so so adorable, I couldn’t resist making a keychain/charm with it. Perfect for the Diva again. This is also from the Couture collections and has these lovely images of ladies on a stamp sized like a passport photo.
Step5-I sandwiched 2 images with a black card stock just so to make it sturdy. Next I punched a hole and then dipped the sandwich into hot melting UTEE (Clear)! Once that cooled, it was ready to take on the load of the charms!
I have used this chunky metal butterfly and tried my hands with beads and wires from my stash. Finally added a long bottle charm filled with colored beads and this long, chunky dangler was ready!
I attached a metal key ring to it and this can be used as a key chain or even hung stylishly from the hand bag!
I am already thinking of the possibility of doing so many of them from this single sheet of paper...love, love!
A must have in your collection and what more they are on a discount too at the moment.
That brings us to the end and I thank you all for visiting this page today. Would love to hear from you and I will be back soon...yes, with another altered project!
Until my next creative journey,
Happy Crafting and recycling,
Cheers,

Rupa
