Now what is the memorydex?
- The Memorydex system was developed by Heidi Swapp and is essentially an interactive system to hold index style cards .
- You can add and remove cards from it
- There are 2 systems one is the adorable spinner [available in black and white] made of high quality acrylic and the other is a sturdy desktop display box made of sturdy cardboard with metal rods for the cards to slide on
- You can make the cards using
- hole punches
- special memorydex punches
- rolodex punches
- die cutting- you can use Memorydex dies or similar dies by other companies [ eg Spellbinders Address book die]
- cinch binding machine...with a little bit of tweaking.
- manually by using punches and scissors you may be having
The spinner is simply enchanting to play with..you can flip through the cards or turn the pretty diamond knobs on the sides and make the cards spin and flip!!
The spinner is available in 2 colors....an elegant black and a pristine white. I love both. I have the white one now but plan to get the black one for my daughter.
What can you use it for?
You can use it for sooooo many things but here are a few ideas I could think of.
- Scrap-booking to hold photos and journal-ling
- To do list holder
- Shopping lists
- Planner
- Party Planner
- Birthday Planner
- Festival Planner
- Birthdays through the years
- Recipe Cards
- Inspiring Quotes
- Keep customer orders and details handy
- As a Learning aid for children to hold flash cards, list homework for the day/ week etc, special facts to memorize, reading goals, word of the day etc
- Crafty Memorydex - document to do projects, to buy lists, DTprojects, challenges, techniques to try, list of persons to make cards for to etc etc
I used the Oval Dividers dies to make 2 types of cards.
You can also pick up this tab style die if your want to add labels to the tab part.
The best part of this system is that if you don't have a die cutting machine or like the convenience of using your own hand cut cards you can punch perfect fitting slots using the memorydex punch.
I did try to make a video but somehow all 2 cameras at home and my mobile camera have decided to be uncooperative...but do check the gorgeous videos on You tube...there are dozens and dozens of them.Search memorydex and be ready to be mesmerized!!
