Altered Journal cover

Hello Folks,

Happy Sunday!

Today is my turn to post a project and I have to say that I am pretty okay with what I made but have serious doubts whether it will suit everybody's tastes. Having said that, I am so glad that we are showcasing Lindy's products this month. They have been on my wish list for so long that I  had to squeal when I saw them available at our store.

I digress! Back to the topic. I decided to alter a journal cover. It was a plain black watercolour notebook and I thought that the outside had to be artistic, so here it is.

It is grungy and as usual very textured. I wanted to keep most of the surface white /cream and just have a rich pop of colour near the embellishment cluster. Not too successful due to some overspray but I am still happy with it. Since this was my artsy journal, I decided to use artsy supplies as embellishments. There are old battered brushes, a stapler pin, eyelets, a wooden ruler and even a crayon.

The background was made using a cross stitch mat ,stamped tissue paper and some bandages for textures.

I have used the following supplies for this project.

Little Lindy's - Red (Autumn Maple Crimson Starburst and Poinsettia Red Gold Stain)

Little Lindy's Brown - Gossamer Gold Moon shadow mist

Crafter's Corner Tiny Circles Stencil

Gesso

Modelling Paste

Studio Multi medium - Matte

That's it for now. We have been enjoying seeing your submissions for our Anything goes challenge. If you have not participated yet, then hurry! Fabulous prizes this time too.You have a chance to win a set of the Lindy's Stamp Gang mists and a Rs 500 gift voucher to a Random Winner as well!

Hope you are enjoying the long weekend. See you soon!

Cheers

A card with sprays and stencils

Hello Crafters,

It's my (Priya) turn to showcase lovely Lyndy's Stamp Gand Sprays and Crafter's Workshop stencils that Crafter's Corner is stocked up with right now..

I made a friendship card.. with some flowers and a butterfly.. don't you think they compliment each other so well like true friends?

Here is my card..

Another view:

I used stencils and sprays of different colors to create a background on a patter paper... used some flowers and charms (again from crafter's corner) to beautify the background..

Provided a background support to the front of the card with spellbinder's label dies (do I have to say that it's again from crafter's corner?)

Once the card was finished, I sprayed the whole card with Glitz spirtz - Blazing Sun which is a part of Little Lindy - Yellow Try me set.. This one is just superb.. it gives a gold shimmer to your project without hiding the true background colors.. in short, it's a transparent golden spray.. Let's have a closer look..

Click on the pic for an enlarged view.. you will realize what I am saying..

Lyndy's Gang - Try me sets are highly recommended for a starter.. you will be able to work with all types of sprays manufactured by Lyndy's Stamp Gang.. The colors are perfectly coordinated in every single pack..

Here is the overall list of supplies I used to make this card:
Did you participated in our current challenge? You have a chance to win a set of the Lindy's Stamp Gang mists and a Rs 500 gift voucher to a Random Winner as well!

I hope you liked my card.. Thanks for visiting!

Happy Crafting!
~ Priya..
