Coloring with Distress Inks! :)

Hi Everyone,
Hussena here again to share with you a card for the inspiration for Crafter's Corner # 6 -Stamping!....For my card today I have stamped the flowers and the butterfly and colored it using Distress Inks....This is one of the most commonly used techniques using Distress inks ..The coloring was done using Tim Holtz Blending Tool by directly picking the colors form the ink pad and dabbing it over the stamped area...Here you don't have to be careful while coloring because you know that any color which goes out of line will be fussy -cut...The distress inks are very vibrant and the colors really do pop up beautifully once they dry as these are water -based inks..There are many more techniques which can be done using Distress Inks as these are really very versatile inks and they come in 36 beautiful shades ...These inks are really a MUST -HAVE for any new crafter..There are so many possibilities with these inks and we at Crafter's Corner will be discussing about the various use of Distress Inks in our future posts/tutorials..So do keep a look ..Okay , having said that now here's a look at my card :-

A VIDEO TUTORIAL--COLOURING WITH MARKERS

Hi Friends,

Its Anita here with my first video tutorial (I'm very very nervous) on colouring with distress markers. This month our challenge features on stamping with an emphasis on markers. So I decided to go for colouring with markers and that too my favourite stamped image --Magnolia Tilda with Daisy.
There are innumerable videos and tutorials on this and so that made me even more nervous.
So please be patient and bear with me. The video is a bit---NO VERY SHAKY!!!! And I,ve tried to do my best. But please, PLEASE!!! excuse me!!! This is my first attempt!!

A little about Distress Markers----Colouring is a cakewalk with Distress Markers even for a novice, because, all you need is to fill the colours and spread with a water brush pen or normal brush. The effect is remarkable as these are water based. Also since, its in pen form, you have control on how much colour to apply.
My experience says---use very little to get more effect--i.e, just a bit of colour spreads so well giving a beautiful hue.
Also you can build up shading by starting with the lightest shade and going on to the darkest, giving a depth to your image.

So please watch this video. Its just my way of colouring. I wanted to share it with you all. Thanks for watching. I'll do a better job next time. I would like to thank a very dear crafter  Ujjwal Gupta  She patiently taught me how to make a video tutorial in The Windows Movie Maker . Thanks Ujjwal!!!
