DIY Custom Made Embellishments

Origami Box
Hi friends Dr Sonia here with a 3 D project that takes me down memory lane of my DT stint at Crafters Corner as it features some popular products I have demoed from Crafters Corner in the past with detailed tutorials!

The star of this Origami Box is a large paper peony[ will share its tutorial soon] with leaves made using the Flower Punch Board .
Here are links to tutorials using the Flower Punch Board
Here are the links to Sospeso Trasparente tutorials

This is how the origami star box looks like  before its dressed up and embellished. I used a Martha Stewart Beaded Ruffle Border Punch on the flaps of the box .
Here is a recap of posts on Punches

12 ways to Use Border Punches

Ever since Shalini sent me the best "pick up tool", the Crystal Katana ...I have been adding pearls galore to all my projects as handling all those tiny pearls is so easy with it.

In case you missed the post ...here is the link
Crystal Katana
Making your own embellishments to match your project is not only economical but super fun and gratifying too! I added handmade silver "metallic" embellishments to all the flaps and corners of my origami box.

You can use air drying clay and silicon molds to easily make your own DIY embellishments.
Handmade Clay Embellishments
Cheap air dry clay comes in some pretty bright colors  and the purple and red bows I had made looked too colorful to use in any project till I transformed them into Silver Charms!
You can completely change the look of  your handmade clay embellishments using sophisticated paints such as Liquid Leaf .
Here is the link to the detailed post on Liquid Leaf
Liquid Leaf
I used Silver Liquid Leaf  to create metallic embellishments which looked like our popular metallic charms but were ideal to use on paper crafts as they were made of lightweight clay!

Since Liquid Leaf has a nice thin and flowing consistency...none of the details of the clay embellishment were lost even after painting.

The lid of my origami box has foam sandwiched between its layers for added strength

I used the gorgeous Lemon Craft Dreamy Mornings pattern paper to make this origami box and this type of box is ideal to showcase any pretty double sided paper you may be hoarding!

I hope you liked this simple project and a recap of the tutorials.

Getting to know your Mini MISTI (And a Give-away!)

Hello Everyone, Tejal here today and I am so so honored and over the moon to be the one to be bringing this post to you today...

Have you heard??? Iliana, owner and creator of the MISTI, is giving away one Mini Misti EVERYDAY this whole May!! Its MISTI MAY-NIA this whole month!
Some days more than one MISTI is up for grabs!! Isn't that crazy awesome...
That's how amazing and generous she is! Check out her post over here for all the details.. I will be posting all the steps at the end of the post too!

I have been a die hard MISTI fan and supporter right since the day I saw it in action at its debut at CHA and have owned one for over a year now...and now I have the Mini Misti too!

So what better way to show my love for this amazing tool that changed my stamping completely, than do a video review and demo.
No more wasting paper, no more blurry images or sentiments, no more ghosting..and perfect placement.
(You will hear me say the word PERFECT over a 100 times in the next half hour!)

I made a 3 part video series.. to show how to use the Mini Misti and how to get the maximum benefits out of your stamps too!! Scroll down below the videos to see how to win a Mini MISTI everyday!!

Part 1

Here I unbox the Mini Misti, show you what all you get, how to use it for you basic stamping and how to use it for masking with greater accuracy.

Or watch in HD on our You Tube Channel over here..

Part 2.

Here I show you how to use the Multi layered stamps which are so much popular right now..and stamping them perfectly using your Misti. Also how you can make multiples of the same card in a jiffy. Watch in HD on YouTube Here

As I show you in the video,  I place the stamp in one position and simply rotate the paper, this is exactly how I have made this card. The flowers were masked just slightly. The leaves and berries also stamped the same way. I just had to align it once and keep stamping and rotating the paper.

Part 3

In the last part I show you how to use Cling stamps with your Mini and large cling background stamps with the original Misti.

Watch this on YouTube Here

I do hope you enjoy this basic introduction to the MISTI. I have quite a few more lined up using this amazing tool. If you have any special requests for videos, please do no hesitate to leave me a comment and let me know.

So, if you see my video here, you will understand what I mean. This die is for those who love adding ropes, twines etc as embellishment on their projects. I am always on the look out for the right colour or right kind of twine or cord for my projects . But now, the Elizabeth Craft deigns Ropes 1 die will put an end to your search, for this die will help you cut 4 designs of ropes or cord in a variety of material like paper, rexin, leather, felt , stiff fabric etc.
And with many different treatments given to these die cuts, these become beautiful embellishments for the projects.
I will be speaking and showing you more about these in my forth coming videos.

Let me introduce this die to you and you will fall in love with this. Here is the video showing you about the Ropes -1 die. I have also spoken about the Jewellery 1 sea glass die which helps us to make customised costume jewellery in no matter of time.
