Without wasting time let's get started.

Wait a second, go grab a mug of your favorite drink and come back asap..its a long post like really really long ....

I want to congratulate Ms. Shalini Mittal and Crafters Corner Team for bagging the International Distributorship Rights of Plaid Products in India. Yayyy now coming back over to my post, I am here to give reviews on one of the most FANTASTIC product range MOD PODGE.

In the following post I will be discussing the basics - like what is MOD PODGE all about and what all can be done with MOD PODGE. I know most of us are very much familiar with this product name but for those who are not sit tight and read on.... I am sorry in advance this post is all about basics no fancy techniques here for now but do keep an eye for my upcoming posts i:e 17th June where will be sharing cool projects and fun tips and techniques- DIY Embellishments,

MOD PODGE is loved by crafters all over, including me (ok I am new lover ). It’s like an all-in-one glue, sealer, and finish! It’s great for almost all types of projects and can be used on most surfaces. It is easy to use, non-toxic, and comes in a variety of finishes/formulas. It pretty much allows you to decorate just about any surface imaginable. Sounds amazing right? It works perfect for all your decoupage projects and needs.

My DT Pack.

NOTE - One important thing to remember All Mod Podge formulas are essentially the same in which they can all do three things- gluing, sealing and finishing. The finish or use may be different, but they are all capable of those three things. Don’t forget that.

(Press the link to review the facts about the formulas-) the entire formula guide is amazingly explained on MOD Podge rock blog- Amy Anderson)

1- CLASSIC MOD PODGE - Broadly classic mod podge have two basic formulas under its head : Gloss and Matte. When Mod Podge was developed initially it was started with these two. The only difference between these two is the effect that results when it’s dry. That’s it.
Gloss – lustrous Finish
Matte – Non-shiny finish.

2Antique Mod Podge: This is for the people who enjoys the beauty of vintage and loves to create antique effect over there project. It takes time and effort to create antique look. Antique Mod Podge allows us to bring this effect of vintage effortlessly just by brushing few strocks of antique mod podge on your projects, when it dries completley it leavs a brown aged looked to your project. This formula comes in a Matte finish.
Result: Matte finish with a brown tint and tdaa you have antique effect on your project

3-Extreme Glitter Mod PodgeThis formula contains ultra fine and nano glitter and with each stroke of glitter mod podge you end up with super shimmery effect. This mod podge works wonder wen applied to dark surfaces, the glitter really stand out against dark dark surfaces.

4-Paper Mod Podge:  This is for the people who are creating projects with paper but are on more advance level, It is basically for the people who create keepsakes and want there projects to be well documented. Paper Mod Podge does all that wonders for you. This comes in gloss and matte Finnish and helps the images and papers in keepsakes fresh and protect them from yellowing or loosing it sheen.

These are similar to classic formulas matte and gloss finish, But ideal for scrapbooking and cardmaking,

5-Satin Mod PodgeThis is the same as the two classic formulas, but the finish is more polished. It gives a lustrous, soft appearance between a matte and gloss. This actually works as coat of varnished or polished applied to your projects which helps it make them add extra lustre to your project, smooth in feel and makes to appear less scratches.

6-Mod Podge Super Thick Gloss: As the name says super thick gloss, with this you cannot glue down your projects, its simple purpose is to provide Super Gloss, smooth, epoxy-like finish over your projects. It works as a sealant to your projects, you can gluwork your project with some classic mod podge and then use the Super Gloss over the top. So it gives you a very shiny, clear finish that looks like epoxy.

7- Sheer Colors:  sheer colors are regular mod podge and with this you can work excatly like with classic matte mod podge formula. The only difference with this is they come in colors tinted colors.perfect to paint glass items.
DO KEEP UP WITH US A FULL POST ON SHEER COLORS COMING SOON!!! DO WATCH OUT

8-Fabric Mod Podge: This formula is for the Fabric lovers. People enjoy decoupage with fabrics too. This formula helps us to prepare fabric for decoupage, you apply thin coat of fabric mod podge and then cut them in pieces to decoupage. The main idea is to prevent the Fabric to become threadbare.

9- Outdoor Mod Podge: outdoor mod podge helps us protect our projects from moisture and weather. This is recommended for projects which are kept in open. This allows them to stay long in open it basically increases the shelf life of decor pieces which are kept in open.

10-Sparkle Mod Podge: classic formula with added glitters in them. Works excatly same as classic modesign Podge formula but comes with oodles of hologram glitter inside. Works absolutely perfect against dark background.

Now I have adhered all the tags on a plain black CS with Mod Podge Papaer matte
and allowed it dry for 15- 20 minutes. Decked up the corners with basic decoupage with the same formula .

I know nothing Fancy but I am focusing on what all we can do these Gorgeous line of Product range - MOD PODGE

Once I am done with pasting part, I have sealed the entire layout with MOD PODGE SUPER THICK GLOSS ( My Fav<3 actually one of them :P ). Look how gorgeous can simple piece of work can turn out into. By the way the best part of using Mod Podge over your projects is - Protects your project from dust and the color of the same doesn't fade away.

Oh My God.. Isn't this just amazing with one bottle of Mod Podge you can work on so many different types of surfaces. Here's a BIG THUMBS UP for the versatility of MOD PODGE. Mod Podge is not just meant to decoupage, you can work on scrapbooks, cards, on your DIY  jewelery to Home decor projects, revamp your old pair of canvas shoes to redecorating an Old Furniture, possibilities are endless.

JUST TO REMEMBER-
There are few to things you have to keep in mind while working with MOD PODGE-

1- You can work with any flat paint brush of foam brush. I will recommend foam brush!! Coz.. it helps you control the mod podge quantity and gives you an even application all over the surface. You can check out the awesome tool kit from Mod podge

2- Don't forget to wear any old pair of clothes while working with Mod Podge, if dried its doesn't going to come off.

3- Don't for get to clean you brushes, Mod podge washes out easily and you can reuse the brushes over and over again. But if you left the mod podge to dry over them forget it the brushes will toast.

4- Always allow to dry mod podge over night for best results. ( means this need loads of patience.) For Outdoor Modpodge leave it for for two overnight for best results. Drying time can vary depending your location and weather. If there is too much of humidity in the environment the more time mod  podge will take to dry.

I am delighted to recommend MOD PODGE to all the crafters, scrapbookers and card makers to give it a try and I am sure you all will Love the results. I am sorry to disappoint you all for not having projects to share with you but do keep an eye on much more tips and techniques coming soon.

  16. Can it be used for sticking my clay petals and leaves?

    1. Mod Podge is not advisable to stick clay. How ever you can try any light character clay like for example fimo clay ( light weight projects only- with flat surface.) Mod podge can work as an excellent sealant for your projects.
