Add a little drama to your studydesk!!

Hello crafters ! This is Bipasha with my very first inspirational post in CC for you today.I believe you guys are having an awesome gala time with so-very festive mood of our blog anniversary ,so without any delay please hop in the fun Candy on the blog!!
Our dear DT Riti have challenged us with an awesome challenge " Cheers To New Beginnings ” and our so apt product of the month being Graphic 45 Papers & Distress Crackle Paints who would think of missing a chance to join in the fun!!
So, if you want me to describe it in one-line, Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint is just that…paint that dries with a crackled effect and it is a one-step crackle finish. A multitude of looks can be created, from grungy to vintage distressed to shabby chic! Adding to its charm, with Graphic 45 papers and embellishments you can have so much fun letting your imagination run wild!

I would better show it with a mini-inspiration.
The other day I was sipping some pepsi and thought of recycling some crazy junk and adding on it a little mixed media drama with these must-haves from crafters corner store. By this time I would be known as Junky-lady :P !! LOL…anything pretty that can be recycled never leaves my notice!

Yes! you see it right..My can – Pepsi ! I painted it with a dark shade(pine green + black)acrylic paint to give it a one colour look. Also, used its flip cap  by binding it with a wire round the can(please ignore my red nail paint :P)

Then comes the crackle magic ! I added little water to the crackle medium(need not do it,if it don’t turns out too thick) and lightened it a little with the white acrylic and painted my can!

A medium application will give you fine cracks , a thick application will give more defined and bigger cracks. Let it dry by itself. You can speed up the cracking/drying process with a heat gun but only after the cracks have started forming, which generally happens 5-10 minutes after application. It only takes about 30 minutes to dry completely, depending on your climate.
As I browsed Google,I found that recommended surfaces include cardstock ,chipboards,etc and you can say I experimented it on a different can surface with a what-if chance!!Phewww!! Don’t you just love that cracked look??
Dabbed a little distress stain to give it a messy look.

And now onto the G45 paperpad; I selected the Secret Garden. All of the soft pastel colors and gorgeous spring-inspired images of Secret Garden are just perfect for those so-very enigmatic 3D projects! Paper layering, fussy cut flowers, pretty chipboards, ribbons, what not!Some snippets to drive your shabby side crazy!

Also used the crackled effect on an old wooden charm! And cut out the paper borders, fussy cut few florals and little wowwy tags from the G45 paper, with a little distressing.

Here are some embellies I made using papers from G45.

Then added some flowers, lace , rhinestones, pearls and the black beads to complete the look! My idea was to give it a pillar alike  look with all the little flower frames adoring it.Happy crafting !
